Hello Kyudo

It could be seen as presumptuous to dive into all things Fintech and Growth related before we’re properly acquainted.

So I am taking the very special opportunity of a first blog post to introduce Kyudo, who we are, and what we are passionate about.

If you’re already here, you’ll know that we’re a growth agency and our mission in life is to help innovative companies from around the world (and locals!)  to build momentum and grow in the Australian Financial services market.

Why did we get started?

Over the past few years, our consulting team at JBC have been consistently approached by Fintech’s, both start-ups and mega-tech firms alike looking for business development support.   The requests have been so consistent, and our services so highly regarded, that we decided to boot up Kyudo as a full, end-to-end Growth Agency.  Kyudo, in case you’re wondering, is an ancient Japanese martial art of using the bow and arrow to hit a target, with a strong focus on great technique leading to accurate results – a theme that resonated strongly with us, and our clients.

What on earth is a Growth Agency?

To be successful in selling products and services into a new territory a multidisciplinary approach is needed.  Simply dropping a salesperson into the new territory is very unlikely to yield results.  Profile building, participating in events, hosting events, localising marketing material, chasing down sales leads and more, all require local expertise across a range of professional disciplines.  Kyudo brings all of these disciplines together, across Corporate Strategy, Marketing, Sales and Customer Success Management.  Our clients use some, or all of these services to successfully build momentum and grow in Australia.

Why is the Australian Financial Services market great for FinTech?

Australia has a thriving financial services marketplace and one of the largest retirement savings pools in the world. It is a market that is attractive to Fintech’s all over the world.  Barriers to entry are high though and there are big challenges to face into when making a market entry.  The tyranny of distance is an obvious problem, with travel costs and time zone differences making this a seemingly insurmountable problem.  Throw in the need to recruit and retain specialised staff, build a localised profile, understand the local buyers, analyse regulatory regimes and more and the pathway to entry can seem very steep indeed (unless you’re working with Kyudo of course!).

Who is Kyudo?

Our journey has stretched back through almost 25 years of listening to buyers, building propositions, crafting promotional experiences and managing sales processes from initial contact through to closed contract.  Our team has originated, managed and closed deals from just a few tens of thousands, to tens of millions of dollars.

Kyudo takes this enterprise-grade experience and wisdom and offers it to small and large tech firms to help them succeed in the complex, heavily regulated and rapidly evolving finance sector.

So, while Kyudo is new, the services we provide and the team behind them are seasoned veterans who know the local landscape and have the battle scars to prove it.

If you’d like to find out more, drop us a quick note to say hi.

We’d love to hear about your brilliant business and to explore how we might be able to help you.
